Something deep in me yearns for tradition.
Yearns for stability and comfort.
Yearns for all that's good in this world for my babies.
Yearns for the simplicity of life...
That yearning today, brought us to Irvine in search of watermelon and a
few new memories etched in their little minds. A new tradition started...
I loved the excitement in Charlie's face as he tried time and time again to usher us out of the house
this morning. He doesn't quite realize yet how much work it is to get 3 little ones and 2 adults out of
the house and all set to go without forgetting anything and on time...
But we finally arrived at the farm and it didn't disappoint.
Our ride for the day
Patiently waiting for the tour tractor to depart...

They enjoyed tasting all that the farm had to offer. All organic, fresh-picked produce.
Oh and by the way, have you ever heard of yellow watermelon? I hadn't. But it actually
exists, see? And it's quite good!
They were having such a great time eating their veggies, who would've thought?
He only really wears these glasses when he's around Eric. He loves to be just like his Pop.
If you never saw a daddy's girl, come sit at my
kitchen table around 5pm and wait there quietly.
When you hear the latch of the back gate click,
turn and watch the sheer joy and excitement in my girls'
faces and the race for them to get up and drop whatever
they were doing to be the first to the back door to be scooped
up in his arms.

You will see the definition of Daddy's Girl.
Walking around the patch to learn about the watermelon...
They were so proud of "their" melons. Charlie wanted me to write his name on his
just to make sure he got to eat the one that was his.
Kate, well, she just liked that hers was a cute and little.
The bond between J and my kids is beyond words.
You can feel it when they are around each other. It's like a magnetic force.
Ella was so happy to hold a watermelon, she kissed it!

She will sit there quietly singing to herself and watch. Just waiting for the moment I glance her way
and this amazing, heart stopping, beautiful smile will light up her face just so.
She is the most adorable baby I've ever seen.
I know I'm biased but I'll own it... I mean, really, look at her!
No pictures of mama again today. But that's ok.
I see myself there.
In their every smile, I am there.
We had a wonderful day.
I hope you had a fabulous weekend too.
