"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

L'Heritage Francais' Year-End Ceremony

This morning was Charlie's little Grad ceremony. He didn't really graduate anything as he will be going into preschool again next year but it was really cute, regardless. We were so excited to see him standing up there, having survived his whole first year of school. He was the shortest little guy in the whole line-up! But definitely the cutest ;o)... We would call his name to get his attention and he kept telling us "Shh!" Such a crack up! They had a little brunch afterwards and Jackie was so generous in throwing the kids an ice cream party after that. It was such a good turnout and the kids LOVED it. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who had a hand in making Charlie's first year of school so fantastic... His sponsors, my parents and Didi... Jackie for taking him to school almost the whole second half of the year and being co-op mom for me so many times. You are irreplaceable and we really love you so much for loving our kids so much. We love L'Heritage and are so grateful it is there and that our baby boy can benefit from such a fantastic teacher and program. Here are a few pics of our little guy on his big day. Checking in...

I don't have many pictures of me pregnant with this little one. (Don't really feel photogenic, if ya know what I mean.) But I did take one when I *thought* I was going to go in labor, just in case. But here I am, still going so I thought I'd share.

Not much going on here lately. Eric and I just had our 9th anniversary. We celebrated with a fabulous dinner date to The Fish Company in Los Alamitos. The lobster was so good! Worth every year we've been married, in my opinion...lol. We had a really relaxing night out together with no kids. We were going to go see a movie afterward but I was too tired.

We are still getting the girls' room ready for the baby. We had our carpets cleaned. Our little monkeys enjoyed this. Check out the surprise I found when I walked into the kitchen one morning. They were waiting to leave and decided this is where they wanted to sit.

A Kate Funny...

Tonight the kids WOULD NOT go to bed. We tried everything. So finally we gave up and were sitting in the living room. We are having our carpets cleaned to get ready for the new baby so all the furniture is kind of stacked in the kitchen to clear the carpets. Well, I noticed that miss Kate was leaning on her rocking chair facing away from us and she was plugging her nose. I asked her what she was doing after realizing she was poopin' and she said, "stinky." LOL... I wanted to die laughing. How bad is it that the child can't even stand her own poop smell?!

Waiting, and waiting...

It's been busy around here lately. Dr.'s appointments and school and Gymboree classes, buying new beds, trying to get ready for the new baby girl on her way... we had a little bit of a scare on Tuesday. I got my cerclage removed and had to go in to the hospital for the day to be monitored for possible PIH which is Pregnancy Induced Hypertension. I was sent home but it could still be a threat so I am going in for NST's (Non-Stress Tests) twice a week until she gets here to make sure she is thriving in there.

I've decided to not induce and just let her come when she comes. . . In some ways this is hard because that makes the waiting seem so indefinite. The date is no longer on the calendar when she will be here. Charlie was a bit of a surprise to us, as he arrived 9 weeks early. Kate, our little drama girl, was induced at 40 weeks. I wonder how this new blessing will make her appearance. Of course I have to realize that nothing ever happens as planned in my life. It's so exciting that in 4 weeks or so, we will have a new baby to love and spoil...

As I type this, my little Kate is hiding behind the front door peeking out with one eye every minute or so saying "Cou cou" to me. She finds this hilarious. She's been busy all morning playing with Charlie and reading books. Charlie is taking advantage as he sends her to get all his toys for him which she gladly does because the only thing she really wants is to play with him. She will catch on soon enough and tell him to get his own toys but for now, she's happy as a clam being his little puppy. She learned how to say I love you this week. She always knew what it was, but now she says it back when we say it to her. Be still my heart, I think it will beat out of my chest whenever I hear her say it.
Anyway, that's my update. The girls room *may* get finished tonight or tomorrow so I'll post pics soon. Kate will be SO thrilled when her little bed is installed and ready to go... Love y'all!
