"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

Kate's 5th Birthday

Kate is 5.
The words don't even sound real.
She is such a graceful, beautiful and soulful 5.

Everything she does is done with care and consideration.
She is a kind and loving little girl.

She is doing wonderfully in school and writing is her very
favorite thing to do. In her spare time, when she can choose
anything at all that she wants to do... she will write.
My knowledge-thirsty little girl walks around the house
with a blank paper and a pencil looking for words to copy
and learn. I love that about her. I love everything about her.
I love how she loves and I love how she laughs.

Of course, 5 needs to be celebrated BIG.
So we did big.

When we asked Kate what she wanted to do for her 5th
birthday party she said she wanted a New York and Paris party.
We decided to go with Paris and hold the party at the flower shop.
Her baby shower was also held at the flower shop...

Here is the link to her baby shower. Kate's Shower
We made her a photo book of her shower to look at
and she loves it. Her request for this 5th birthday party
was a huge pink K out of carnations. She also wanted a huge 5 somewhere.

I LOVED the flowers. They were amazing and lush.
SO perfectly girly and Kate.

Every little detail was handmade by someone who loves Kate a whole lot.

Steph spent countless hours making tulle balls to hang from the ceiling.
(thank you, Boo)

As a throwback to her shower, we used the same china that we
had used and it went perfectly with everything else.

She had so much fun bouncing with her friends.
Other activities included beaded necklace making
and Jaclyne held a little flower arranging class for
them to learn how to make their own arrangements to take home.

Flower arranging...

The dessert table was my pride and joy.
My brother Erl and I made everything ourselves
and I was so thrilled with how it all came out.
In fact, he catered the entire lunch portion of the
event and pulled it off with flying colors. I am so glad I have him.

These macarons are far, far from perfect. Those things are hard to make!!
Hats off to those who make them look so flawless!

Party favors

The cutest sisters in the world...

This is what happens when the birthday girl gets tired of taking photos.

Some of the little party guests...

Blowing candles and opening presents...

When she was born, my mom, Grandma and I took a
4 generations photo with our little Kate. How blessed
are we that we got to do it again 5 years later?

Happy Birthday, Sweet Kate. You are loved beyond words.

Thank you to all my friends and family who helped to make
this little girl's 5 years as fabulous as they have been.
I couldn't ever have done it without my village behind me.

  1. So beautiful birthday party. Buffets are looking delicious. Thinking of throwing my niece a birthday party at one of LA venue. Will look for amazing ideas from an online site. Want to make her day special and will hire decorating services too for the day!
