I always heard of the terrible twos.
I was prepared for them and so handling it was bearable.
I always thought it got better at three.
It doesn't. Most definitely not with girls.
She's not so much naughty, like draws on walls and stuff,
it's more like she's 3 going on 18.
The ATTITUDE!
"You aren't my mommy EVER AGAIN!"
"I don't like you anymore!"
and my favorite one is when I do something to upset her
and she uses the one thing she identifies with and screams
to me, "You are not a little girl anymore. You're a boy!"
That's the ultimate insult to her because she thinks boys are yucky.
(Thanks for that, Jaclyne.)
Anyway, today, because I drove over a bump in the road while she was drinking
her sprite and spilled a little bit of it on her shirt, she used her ultimate insult,
called me a boy and then she threw the drink. Yes, she did.
She got a good time-out for that one.
It totally wasn't Kate's day today.
She fell and hit her on the cement.
But I totally made up for it with her new little Pinkalicious doll.
She adores these books and she thinks the doll looks like her.
After that she told me I smelled good and that I could be a little girl again.
Oh Kate, what am I going to do with you?
