"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

Dress up

Celebrations are happening all around us.
Parties, bashes, holidays...oh my!
We are busy, busy, busy around here...

I've had 2 flower fairies, a Transformer, a Minnie Mouse and
mini Rapunzels in my house this past 2 weeks...

It all started with the Orange Bash. A new event at school sponsored by the teachers
where the kids and their siblings played games, dressed up, had a parade and ate lots of yummy food...

Kate's ballet class had a mini Halloween party...

Kate and her "fwiends" got to dress in costume to dance...

The little ballerinas performed a Halloween dance that they'd been practicing
for a while now. It was quite adorable to watch and I was so proud of my girl.
She kind of hid from my camera in the beginning, but she's the purple fairy in the back on the left...

Kate & her ballet instructor. The beautiful Tooth Fairy, Jessica.

There are definitely fleeting moments when things are as busy as they've been when I feel overwhelmed and
want to just hole up in the house and stay there with the babies for a week or so.

I think after this weekend is over I may just do that...

Rest, recharge my batteries, clean the house, cook some dinners, play with the babies,
catch up on the overflowing  Tivo... ya know?
Domestic Goddess-type stuff.

'Cause the week after that? Crazy busy again...
With this and this and what I'm most looking forward to...? This !!!

Kate and Charlie are really excited for the show.
Kate especially, because she is a huge Beauty and the Beast fan.
She asks me to play the montage of the play for her at least twice a day...

I guess I can't really complain... things are nice when they are slow and quiet
and we get to stay home and perfect the art of reading books and playing dolls -
but things are also great when we are busy and enjoying all the opportunities,
things and people this crazy life has to offer us.

As for now, we're off to nourish our spirits at church and celebrate the awesomeness that is
5 years old with the kids' little friend Dominic at his haunted 5th birthday party tomorrow...

Despite what I tell myself during the weeks that I want to run and hide, life really is good.

If I tell you otherwise, direct me back to this post so I can be reminded of it.
You can even give me a smack behind the head to reinforce it a little... but be gentle.
