Celebrating Kate

I love surprising them on their birthdays...

So I waited until midnight when Kate finally fell asleep

and like a thief in the night, I made the girls their ballerina shirts and headbands,

I decorated cupcakes like a madwoman

and I transformed her room into a "princess room" as she called it today.

It turned out a bit like this...

As life would have it, she woke up earlier than usual so I wasn't ready with the camera

to capture her reaction on film - but oh, was she happy.

What's a birthday without a little bit of ooohing and aaaahing over you?

We had a lot of ground to cover that day. Tante Rachel asked us to stop by the

hospital to visit her so she could give Kate a birthday gift before we headed to Ariel's Grotto

for lunch and so the girls brightened up the walls of that place with their tutus and their smiles.

and Kate was so happy to receive her big diamond silver Gap shoes that she

could hardly contain her shy smile...and there was chocolate included to boot.

She also got her fave Ariel pj and cd player from the lovely Didi.

A quick phone call from Grandpa and we were off to eat with the princesses!

The girls were in HEAVEN!

The day didn't go off without a few tantrums but how does that song go?

It's her party, she can cry if she wants to??

Her first ever roller coaster! She's all the way in the back.

We were blessed and Eric was able to come meet us at Goofy's Kitchen

for dinner with Charlie and Steph.

It was a good family day and we really had a light hearted, fun day celebrating

the one-of-a-kind Kate.

I'm looking forward to Sunday's dinner in her honor too...
