"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

Nicole's Classes

The sun started shining again, but I guess the little ol' blog wasn't quite ready yet.
Uninspired has gotten the best of me and I'm just trying to stay afloat with
everything I've had on my plate lately. Patience is a virtue, my friends.
Thank you for being patient with me while my creative juices start flowing again.

Onto, fun stuff...
I have a big, fancy camera and I love my big, fancy camera.
It takes great  photos but I was just scratching the surface of the
potential I had with this camera. I needed to learn it and it's settings thoroughly .

Shooting in AUTO or P wasn't good enough.
I knew I could do better if someone just showed me how to.

So, I researched and researched.
Nothing came up for months.
Until I came across Nicole Gerulat on Twitter.

I devoured her blog and bought her book.

I saw she was offering Crash Courses and the San Francisco one appealed to
me immediately. What better place to learn your camera and take amazing
images than the beautiful city by the bay?

Due to a wedding dress fitting party for my little sister who's getting married,
I couldn't make it to that one. So, Newport Beach it was.
It was a very laid back environment of women all with the same interest.
To learn to take better photographs...

I still have a lot to learn and am looking forward to tackling the homework Nicole gave us.
But all in all, I was very happy with the class and glad to have taken it.
I am now a manual shooter solely and although I've gotten stuck with a few blurry shots,
I have mostly  improved upon the daily shots of the kids and that's all that really matters to me anyway.

Can you tell that I learned a new trick between photo 1 and 2?

We had the pleasure of working with a gorgeous model, Jasmine.
She definitely made it easy to take great images.

I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking to improve their photography skills
that they take some kind of class or workshop like Nicole's.
It left me inspired, itching to get out there and find interesting subjects and
most importantly, it made me really want to improve upon my craft.
It made me want to be better at what I do.

And this is what I do.

  1. I am so proud of you. You stepped out of your box and your comfort zone and did something you LOVE. You are meant to do BIG things, I just know it... And you need to teach me some of your tricks.
