I'm seeing the first little inklings of Spring showing themselves and
let me tell you, I am so ready for it.
My wisteria has blooms for the very first time since I've planted it.
I love this tree (bush? plant?)
I don't know what to call it but it's great. It feels fresh and lovely.
I was so thrilled to see those gorgeous purple blooms this afternoon
My wall is starting to become covered in Boston ivy again.
I am very much looking forward to lilac and tulips and gardening.
New beginnings always give me a sense of hope and of romance.
What better beginning is there than the start of a new, gorgeous season?
I don't know if it's the weight loss or the beautiful weather we've been having
or the glorious extra hour of sunlight we've recently gained but I'm just itching to
put on flowy skirts and walk barefoot with the babies through orchards and fields.
Today I made my friend Julie's Salted Caramel Cupcakes
for a very good friend's birthday. The house smells HEAVENLY and
it's taking me every single piece of willpower I can muster to not have just a tiny little bite.
I also started an herb garden. I planted lavender and basil, chives and parsley.
The thought of cooking with these little herbs grown from seeds I sowed in
organic soil and cared for all on my own is very summery and refreshing to me.
I dream of making pizzas with olive oil garlic crust and fresh tomato sauce,
mozzarella cheese and fresh sweet basil & tomato slices...
Things I'm excited about for Spring:
Strawberry picking, family photos, walking to the park, berry lemonade, April, Charlie's 6th birthday,
fresh flowers, spending more lunches & coffees with friends, taking out the kids' bathing suits
and strawberry basil mojitos ...
What are you looking forward to this Spring?
