"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

Lately...

I've had a lot going on around here and so my poor little blog is one of the balls I have
to let drop once in a while because the kids, the family, work, comes first.

I  just wanted to take a second and share a few things we've been up to lately that are pretty cool...

Tori and Dean's sTORIbook Weddings TV shoot

My best friend  J was recently hired to do the flowers for a new wedding show that
Tori & Dean are in the process of filming for Oxygen.
That's right, Tori-freakin'-Spelling. ACTUALLY. follows. Jaclyne. On. Twitter.
I still can't even really wrap my head around it.
We grew up secretly watching her as Donna on 90210 for YEARS!
And now I'm standing there cutting off daisy heads while she discusses ribbon colors with Jaclyne.
What a trip!
I am  thrilled beyond words for J. She has worked so, so hard for everything
she has and has never shyed away from sharing anything she's had with the people she
loves who needed it. That's why seeing good things come her way, it makes my heart so happy.
Seeing people appreciate her and her work is beyond gratifying. I dont think anyone deserves it more.

I'm still a little star struck...

Meeting Tori and Dean, and their partner James McGowan, and also
Jo Gartin, who plans all kinds of celebrity weddings, who are all so nice...
It was a really fun and interesting thing to experience first hand. It is so crazy to me that we
actually got to spend a day that way... I'd say it was a once in a lifetime experience but we are
doing it again this weekend for another segment of the show. Pretty cool...
J didn't want to bother Tori with asking for a photo but for me, she did and I'm so glad she did.

Ella & the mud
While I was up to my ears in daisies at the wedding, my mom & dad had my two girls...
She texted me these cell phone pics of sweet little Ella.

Apparently, Ella decided she wanted to see if the mud tasted like chocolate.
I thank God I wasn't there to deal with this because I would have thrown up.

Fashion Island
Every year we go to Fashion Island to see the big, beautiful tree they have there.
I love going to there. It has always been a favorite place of mine to go visit.
There's just something about places like that, they make you forget about your life for
a little while. The kids run around and marvel at the fountains, press their little faces up against
the windows of Build-a-Bear and the pet store with curious eyes...  I just love it.
Since Charlie was born we have been bringing him here every year to take his photo in front of the tree.

And just for old time's sake, some vintage Fashion Island Tree photos from years past.

Judd's Concert
I have loved the Judds for as long as I remember loving music. My aunts loved them and that appreciation, along with all the memories that the songs hold was transferred onto me.
When Tante Teche texted me asking if I wanted to go to the concert I almost jumped out of my seat.
YES! and then there was an extra ticket so I decided to buy it for my hubby, Eric because
he also grew up listening to the Judds and he loves any kind of live music.
My mom joined us too.
It was an AMAZING AMAZING concert. We were 8 rows back, great seats!
Wynonna has the voice of an angel and she uses it very well.
Thank you so much, Teche, for letting me and Eric share this wonderful experience with you.
Love you!
My apologies for the crappy cell phone pics but I couldnt bring my huge, fancy camera into the venue.
Now I know why people need the little point & shoot cameras.

So, that's been my life this past week...
with the kids, the next wedding and my 31st birthday coming up,
it doesn't look like things will slow down any time soon.
I'm just feeling very grateful for all I have.
