"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

A Day in the Village

Our last 2 days in the city were a whirlwind of activities.
We saw a celebrity and got to eat some amazing cupcakes again.

We started out by visiting one of my old favorites from Sex & the City... Pastis.
We had brunch there before starting our walk around the village.

A day spent walking around the Village is a day well-spent.
The streets are lined with brownstones and trees.
I totally want to live here. We ran into Matthew Broderick on this street. Seriously.
Wouldn't you want to live here too?

Washington Square Park

I totally loved the name of this store... Considerosity. (the art of thoughtful gifting)

A stop for ice cream and then we were headed to Bleecker for cupcakes and playgrounds.

We had dinner at Gramercy Tavern for dinner where Kate and Ella
quickly made all the managers, hosts and servers fall in love with them.
Ella made them all love notes on Eloise post its... it was adorable.

On the walk home to our hotel we got glimpses of the majesty of New York.
She's a beauty.

Back at the hotel we were greeted with a little gift from the Omni staff for Kate's birthday.
They left her a plate of chocolate covered strawberries, a red velvet birthday cake and balloons.

Needless to say, this little girl was happy.

J took photos with my camera while I took photos with my iPhone while
we sang happy birthday. The picture on the right is my favorite.
If you want this reaction from your kid, sing happy birthday a la Pavarotti.
She belly laughed.

To end our night, we headed to see our city in all her glory at the Top of the Rock.

We toasted to amazing time spent together and some
forever memories etched in our minds and the little ones' minds.

Leaving the next day was hard. Ella wanted to stay. She liked the taxis.
Kate wanted daddy. Then Kate wanted to stay.

We promised the girls that they could go read books at the library before
we left and so that's exactly what we did...

Kate's 5th birthday party was coming up and wanted to get some
Laduree bags for some of the decor so we stopped to get macarons.

A last stop at Gray's Papaya and Levain Bakery and we were all set to go...

It was an interesting flight home. Ella held hands with a strange lady sitting next to me and there
was no really diplomatic way for me to undo that. The lady was so sweet to Ella and
that always helps on such a long and stressful flight home.

Always happy and sad to be getting on that plane.

Another great trip under our belts and 3 more states crossed off the
girls 50 state bucket list... and that concludes our Fall Trip!
