"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

Celebrating Joy

“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you.
Please don’t take my sunshine away..."

Since her conception Ella was given the nickname of Sunshine.
(Kate, my Pumpkin and Charlie, my Miracle.)
In the months leading up to her birth, 'Here Comes the Sun' by the Beatles
was my saving grace. Listening to it made me so excited to hold Ella in my arms.
She was due in the summer time so it was fitting.

Getting to know Ella and her big personality, I couldn't have chosen a better
name for her. She embodies sunshine. Her spirit is so lit up with joy that it's blinding.
Makes celebrating her and her 3rd year with us so easy and fun.

She was so excited for this birthday. The first where she really got what was going on.
The countdown to it was almost as exciting as the actual party days.
We had an intimate family party (for which she chose Curious George as the theme)
and then a big party with her friends and cousins.

That one was Under the Sea and so fun to plan and orchestrate.

She was so filled with emotion and joy while our family sang happy birthday to her
that she had to lay her head on my dad and she got teary. It was such a precious moment.

She enjoyed handing out the party favors to the guests just as much as she enjoyed opening her own gifts

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate our littlest baby girl.
She was thrilled with everything and had such a great time.
We love you all to pieces.

Happy birthday, my sweet sunshine.
You truly have brightened our lives.
