We had a really great weekend.
Summer isn't usually my preferred season but for some reason,
this year I am really looking forward to it and all of its friends: barbecues, pool days, the beach,
popsicles in sticky little hands, 4th of July, the smell of Coppertone, watermelon, daytrip adventures...
We ended our weekend with one of those little adventures and
man, our southern California sunshine definitely delivered...
Strawberry Tour - Tanaka Farms
Irvine, CA
The kids were so excited their Grandma and Grandpa came along...
The kids loved the idea that they could eat the vegetables right from the crops and
in their natural state. It's an organic farm so no pesticides... everyone's happy all the way around.
Sugar snap peas were the favorite...
After the tractor trailer tour around the farm, we all got a chance to
get out and pick our very own strawberries...
Bonus: I got to take home 4 of these beauties and have since made
strawberry shortcakes and chocolate covered strawberries...
This is the stash of veggies and fruits that came home with us. I
now have to find ways to incorporate into our meals before it goes bad
so that I don't get a lecture from Eric about being wasteful... Any ideas?
The deeper we get into the month of May and the more outdoor adventures
we go on, the healthier I feel...I feel like the kids are happier this way.
We are really excited for summer time to get here...

That was a fun day! I want to go back for the watermelon tour. And thanks for being kind with the pictures xoxo...
