Grounded

I had so many plans for today.

A grand list of to-dos that make my head ache just thinking

about getting them all done in a timely manner.

It seems I'm always busy. Always have things to do and people to see.

An appointment here and a lunch date there.

The thought of sitting on the couch to watch a show

is crazy to me lately... and that's saying a lot for me because

I really love my tv shows.

But today, I was grounded.

I've got a sick little one at home.

Not to mention the almost-3-year-old handful

running around in her underwear because we're potty training.

(1 day down, not a single diaper, thank you very much!!)

Charlie has a stomach bug and is miserable.

Sprite and cartoons are in order...

I am essentially grounded here until this bug runs its course.

I can't say that I'm all that disappointed though.

It couldn't come at a better time. I need to relax.

What better way to do that than with my kids on the couch

on a lovely, breezey, Spring day??
