"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

It Finally Happened...

I kind of always expected that someday Charlie would chop off his hair or one of his siblings' hair. He has always had a fascination with hair and having his head rubbed and massaged. I attribute this to the fact that when I was on bed rest with him, one of the few pleasures I was allowed was getting my head scratched and massaged by J. She would blow dry my hair cause I wasn't allowed to stand for anything other than a 5 minute shower twice a week. Because of this my little Kate became the victim of a really bad haircut. On Jackie's birthday while we were chatting and enjoying cake the kids were off playing at Smiley's house and when Kate came to see me... I noticed it. I was so upset. I know that it's only hair and it will grow back but I really loved her little bangs. Charlie felt really bad. He cried and I cried. He was more worried that he wouldn't get to watch his cartoons before going to bed than how his sister looked though. So there you have it. At least it wasn't all of her hair and at least when you sweep her bangs off to the side you can't tell too much. Here she is, Kate, with her new haircut.
