My boy is 6 today.

6

I blinked and now I have a 6 year old.
A really smart one who is flourishing in school.
Whose performance in this year's Spring Show made me cry and belly laugh and cry some more.
Who still runs to me in the parking lot after school and sings me songs on the way home.

At 6, he's loving Star Wars and Ghostbusters, hockey and Wii.
He spends his free time writing his numbers all the way to 200 and drawing anything and everything.
Coloring makes him happy and so does teasing his sisters. Mainly Kate.

We celebrated our boy turning 6 with a family dinner. Ghostbuster-style.

I have treaded into the age where the attitude is a little bit appalling and
sometimes I have to make him repeat what he says so that I can see if I heard him correctly.
I mean, the back talking alone makes me feel like I'm living with a teenager!
I would never have even THOUGHT about talking to my parents that way!
He thinks he knows everything and I know nothing.
I knew that would happen, but not this young!

I feel like we've regressed a little bit with the tantrums and the crying.
Some days are better than others but regardless, I wouldn't trade him for any other boy in the world.
He makes me proud and he fills me with love and happiness.

I love you, Charlie. You will always be my miracle.
