"There is no more — a higher calling — than raising children who are kind, who live with grace and who are going to be generous human beings in the world. There isn’t anything greater than that."

Oprah's Lifeclass: The Tour

Have you ever seen Oprah's Lifeclass?
I have 26 of them taped and have watched only 4 so far.
They're a lot to take in. They touch places deep within me.
Self-reflection and change can take a lot out of a person.
I cant just watch it. I have to be in the right place emotionally.
I have to have a quiet room and I have to be ready with pen in hand and
my trusty Lifeclass Journal that Oprah sent to me when I signed up.
I take millions of notes and write about my own thoughts and discoveries
among all the thought-provoking quotes, lessons and sayings that
Oprah has learned throughout the years.

She is special to me, Oprah. I have this unexplainable love of her
that I don't have for many other people. She and Barbra Streisand both.
I get teased a lot about it because most people don't get it, so
I don't talk about it much... but this was too big not to share....

It's so cool that I got to go experience this is person.
I still can't even believe it happened.
As we were sitting there in Radio City Music Hall, anxiously
awaiting the arrival of Oprah onto that stage they pumped
LMFAO and Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"
to get the audience revved up. Everyone was dancing and waving
their arms around, smiling and laughing. It was joyous.

And I really felt blessed to be a part of it...

All the Oprah photos are taken with the iPad because
professional cameras were not allowed in the venue.

I'm sad, I wish I had better quality photos.

Gayle was in the audience...

Our episode airs on
OWN on April 23rd, 2012.

It was a very interesting and really a good show about spirituality.
About living in the moment and letting go of past hurts in
order to move forward. It was about change and karma.

Perez Hilton was a guest and it was very interesting to
hear his perspective on how he changed his ways after being
called a bully. He was trying to take a stand against bullying in kids
when someone brought to his attention that he himself
had built his own career on bullying others.

Outside Radio City after the class...

On our last day in the city, we had a 4pm flight.
Our plans were to attend a taping of the Martha Stewart Show,
lunch and then Laduree for some macarons before flying out.

Her set is gorgeous. I want to live in it.

Ms. Martha Stewart

Us at the show...

And finally, a last stroll around the Big Apple.

Laduree.
Another Gossip Girl find...

AMAZING macarons. Moist and so delicious...

Can I just stop for a moment here and point out my dear friend's luggage?
Seriously, you know they make ones with wheels and handles now, right?
This was so funny to watch.

I adore that from the airport, you see all the buildings in Manhattan...

IN the airport, I stumbled upon SuperNanny and I was starstruck.
I just stood there by myself like an idiot and watched her.
I watched her until she looked at me and gave me a WTF-are-you-doing face?

I snapped a photo and quickly walked off....

Just like that we were headed back home to LA... to my hubby and the babies.
It's always nice to be away and explore.
But it's equally as nice coming home and feeling missed.

Today, I seriously love my life.

  1. It was pretty amazing to see Oprah in person. Oprah doesn't make my heart smile and soar like she does for you... but I would call myself a mediocre fan. I do enjoy her sometimes. But that was a really good show. Oh and Martha, I love her set. I am so happy we got to see her before the end of her show. You forgot....we ate at Eataly after Oprah. Then we went to Times Square and then had a late dinner at Lombardi's Pizza with some rice pudding from Rice to Riches - yum!! And we ended up having lunch at City Bakery after Martha. Love you!

  2. Those were the BEST macarons I have ever had. And I can't wait to go to their flagship store in Paris someday soon. Oh and the suitcase was a mistake. I grabbed it in a packing rush, I totally didn't realize it was an old school, 80's luggage without rollers. Yep, that was fun.
